We noted that the Cayman government allows foreign citizens to own freehold title to land in the islands and that there is an excellent system of land records maintenance. We also mentioned that the Cayman consists of three main islands each with its own distinct ambiance.
Grand Cayman is the largest and most developed of the three islands. It is famed for the Seven Mile Beach that stretches across its western coast. The most dominant feature of the island is the North Sound, an extensive shallow lagoon that is protected from the open sea by reefs. The 35 square mile lagoon is ideal for all kinds of water sports including scuba diving and snorkeling.
George Town, capital of the Cayman Islands, and the Robert Owen International Airport are located on the Grand Cayman. George Town is located to the south of Seven Mile Beach and is home to hundreds of banks, including such reputed organizations such as UBS and Merrill Lynch. There are regular international flights to major U.S. cities and the London Heathrow from Grand Cayman.
The dominant feature of Cayman Brac is a limestone ridge that starts from about the middle of the island and rises gradually to culminated in steep cliff rising vertically above the sea to 140 feet on the eastern coast. The ridge has many caves that allows explorers get a glimpse of delicate underground structures, and Cayman Brac also has lush greenery with several walking and hiking trails.
Little Cayman is a quaint little island with a small population. However, it has the world’s top wall diving facility at Bloody Bay, with a vertical underwater cliff that goes 1000 feet down to the ocean bottom at places.
Developed land plots in approved layouts are available on all the three islands, allowing buyers to buy land that meets their personal preferences. Cayman Islands is home to wealthy retirees from all over the world.
